  • GREEN FINGERS

For beauty and variety, it's fern, baby fern

28 Apr 2013 : Some plants are grown because they have beautiful flowers, yet there are plants which are treasured even when they never bloom. Ferns belong to the latter category; plant fanciers love them because they are decorative, add freshness to their surroundings, and give a feeling of coolness even during the height of summer. Thailand has more than 700 species of fern, which come in many different forms, so you never run out of new ones to add to your collection. What's more, some ferns form mutations that can at times bear little or no resemblance to the mother plant, which adds to the excitement of growing them.

    Indigo pearl shows an eclectic

28 Apr 2013 : The Indigo Pearl Phuket resort was the venue for a unique art exhibition called FACE, short for fashion, art, cuisine and entertainment. Hosts Prakaikaew Na-Ranong, deputy managing director at Indigo Pearl, and Kelly Lewis, the resort's jovial general manager, greeted guests who began arriving in the early evening at a reception in the restaurant's courtyard, which had been set up as an exhibition area. The courtyard was bordered with large canvases by award-winning Lebanese designer and artist Pierre Koukjian. Growing up in Germany, France and the Middle East, Koukjian came to the arts through jewellery making. He discovered that painting, sculpture and jewellery are all complementary art forms.
