For What Theatre is staging Oh! Ode (Oh! What Joy, What Goodness, What Beauty Calls For An Ode No.7012) at WTF Gallery and Cafe Sukhumvit 51, Friday to Sunday at 8pm.

Inspired by The Test Of Endurance (2015), directed by Jarunun Phantachat, the dance performance will take the audience to witness live sculpting of art in movement, an artistic height that celebrates the exemplary virtues and beauty of the very land we set foot on.

A performance where traditional dance and live sculpting co-elapse in real-time, Oh! Ode is a project by Sasapin Siriwanij, a B-Floor Theatre core member and co-founder of For What Theatre, and Surachai Petsangrot, the creator of Le Petit Prince (2015) and The Adventure Of Tik Tok, Man Of Oz (2016).

Sasapin debuted her directorial work in 2013 with solo performances and short plays. Her latest creation was co-directing WWW101 (2015), a physical-theatre piece, which commemorated the 101st anniversary of World War I in 2015.

Besides theatre, she has continuously been featured in films, TV dramas and commercials. She also works as a freelance MC, translator/interpreter and movement-based performance instructor. Oh! Ode is the second instalment of her non-theatre gig to explore the questions she would like to pose to her smiling culture and society.

Accompanying the performance is a photography exhibition by Wichaya Artamat, a co-founder of For What Theatre who is intrigued by what it means to see or not see, to hear or not hear, and to experience vacant space in performance.

The show is suitable for the audience at least 18 years of age. Tickets cost 300 baht.
