Cartoonist takes to portraiture

Dinhin Rakpongasok, a political cartoonist with the Bangkok Post, will launch his first portraiture exhibition tomorrow at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

Entitled the "Beloved Portrait Collection", the exhibition presents about 50 works featuring the portraits of his art masters, friends and people who have inspired him. Among them are national artists Prathuang Aimcharoen and Thawal Dutchanee.

Starting as a hobby in 2010, Dinhin has developed unique portrait drawing technique using charcoal and crayon and tissue paper that emphasises perspective in each image.
