Pan-Asean art show opens

The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) presents "Merging Metaphors", an exhibition of new work created by 20 artists from Asean states who were invited to participate in last year's India-Asean Residency held in Darjeeling.

The ICC also routed two Thai artists _ Thawul Praman and Nataphon Na Nakorn _ to this residency which was organised by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, a body that comes under the umbrella of India's Ministry of External Affairs.

On display will be 44 art pieces which explore the ancient ties between Asean and India using a contemporary dialogue. The collection includes Thawul's paintings of Buddha and Ganesh.
