Koi Art Gallery presents "In Her Space", an exhibition by Thai artist Sutthirak Prasitsart, who examines the dynamics between space, shadows and the form of a woman.

In Her Space will be on show at Koi Art Gallery from Friday to June 30. The gallery is on Sukhumvit Soi 31 (Soi Sawaddee) and opens daily from11am to 7pm. Call 02-662-3218.

Sutthirak depicts the enchanting body forms of a real woman, one who is voluptuous, sensual and natural, using charcoal on canvas to highlight and draw out the mysterious splendour of her form.

The body is displayed among shadows, and the face is always hidden out of sight.

The enigma and powerful delicacy infused within the forms also brings out a sensual quality to viewers.

The quality of the works positions this natural beauty above the slender, model-like figures the media and society are infatuated with today.

The artist uses both natural body forms and negative space to challenge the view of women, one that is real and against the current trend.

Sutthirak takes a visually stimulating approach to create works that are contemporary in nature.

Through this series, the artist seeks to push viewers to look past the exposed skin and explore how the body moves with expression and meaning within the space and shadows.
