Eat Me restaurant presents "Elegies For The Future", a painting exhibition by three artists who explore the contemporary resonances of images of cities and architecture.

Chris Shaw-Hughes creates drawings based on photographs of places that have suffered traumatic events. Michael Lee's stark paintings of architectural plans are a ghostly meditation on the ideals of the built environment. And Ronnaphop Terchawong isolates details of the urban landscape on large canvases to alienating, but quietly poignant, effect.
Each of the artists responds to the idea of cities and architecture as intensely metaphorical, as more cities than ever compete for cultural and economic power.
"Elegies for the Future" suggests that the future has already arrived but perhaps it is not the one we imagined and now we don't know where we are or where we are going.
Shaw-Hughes is based in Brighton, UK. His exhibitions include London's Institute of Contemporary Art and The Royal Academy.
Lee is an artist, curator and publisher based between Singapore and Berlin and exhibits internationally. Ronnaphop is an MFA graduate of Silpakorn University and teaches at Khon Kaen University in the Northeast of Thailand.
Elegies For The Future will be on display at Eat Me restaurant from tomorrow until Oct 5. The restaurant is on Soi Phi Phat 2, off Convent Road, and opens daily from 3 pm to 1am. Call 02-238-0931.
