All roads lead to Hong Kong during Watches & Wonders 2013, Asia's first haute horlogerie exhibition, which ended on a high note last week after around 16,000 visitors, from 750 representatives of the region's media to retailers, collectors, admirers of watch mechanisms and lovers of luxury goods, enjoyed the warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout.
Organised by the Exhibitor Committee of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in response to the spectacular growth of Asian markets, the fair, which ran from Sept 25-28, was the first exhibition of its kind ever organised on Asian soil. It boasted the world's top 13 fine watch brands who came together under one roof at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) to showcase their top-tier timepieces, complex mechanisms and skilled craftsmanship.
The watch maisons participating in the four-day event were A. Lange & Sohne, Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Piaget, Richard Mille, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin and Van Cleef & Arpels.
