A group of six young artists, all graduates from non-mainstream art schools in Thailand, will be showcasing a diverse range of heartfelt experiences and aesthetics in “Under The Radar”, an exhibition to open at Chulalongkorn University’s Art Centre this Friday and will run until June 14.

Comprising 20 pieces, a mixture of paintings, installations and mixed-media works, the exhibition is aimed to introduce “a new artistic paradigm” to the public and explore the possibility of Thai contemporary art being able to avoid the reproduction of institutionalised mainstream art.

The participating artists are Anuphap Phetlaisee, Anurak Khotchomphu, Kanyarat Buranapakdee, Kiattipong Longye, Pongsakul Chalao and Sudarut Vongnangam.

Accompanied by curator Suebsang Sangwachirapiban, the six will take part in a panel discussion this Friday at 5.30pm. This will be followed by a reception to mark the opening of the exhibition, which is set to kick off at 6.40pm.

Chulalongkorn University’s Art Centre is on the seventh floor of the Office of Academic Resources on Phaya Thai Road. It is open weekdays from 9am to 7pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.
