Beating back water deficiency

Drinking eight glasses of water daily can be a difficult thing to do for busy urbanites, and as a result the skin may also become thirsty and suffer from the dehydration. In addition, it faces extreme environments, from being outdoor in the sun then indoor under air-conditioning, to make the matter even worse. Coupled with biological ageing, the water deficiency becomes a bigger problem that welcomes wrinkles to settle on the skin.

Hydrating skincare formulation thus remains an active area of R&D, and scientists keep on looking for an oasis for the skin. The simplest approach is to replenish the water supply, and sources like glacial and thermal springs have provided ingredients rich in minerals and nutrients, for example glacial spring water in Valmont and H2O Plus hydrating serums and thermal plankton cellular water in Biotherm's products. Anne Semonin used seawater for the antioxidant and hydrating Oligoanne Serum, which also contains chlorella to counteract polluted skin.
