From BB to CC (and perhaps DD)
With the BB cream fad possibly reaching saturation point, are CC creams claiming the spot?

Over the past years, BB creams have been the wunderkind of the make-up world, and every brand has come up with its own concoction of the Blemish Balm - some brands offer over a dozen variations. The excitement, however, is starting to fade, and suddenly we are greeted with the presence of something almost like BB creams, only better. Or is it?
Korean brand Cathy Dolls has recently launched Cathy Doll Speed White CC Cream, offering long-lasting oil control and coverage.
"A CC cream is presented as a new generation BB cream, offering a lighter texture than BB creams, which can be too heavy for Western tastes. CC stands for colour control or colour correction, and it uses pigments to calm high colour with just one uniform shade. CC creams generally, but not always, also offer UV protection, anti-ageing properties and whitening claims," explained Vivienne Rudd, director of Insight, Beauty & Personal Care, Mintel.
