Thanya Sangkhaphanthanon, a recipient of SEA Write Award better known by his pen name Phaitoon Thanya, is a lecturer at Maha Sarakham University's Thai and Eastern Language Department in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
"It's not easy to shortlist my favourite books as I have so many," he said. "However, there are two that I go back and read time and again. Both are very old fiction that was translated into Thai."
The first is The Human Comedy by William Saroyan, his "feel-good" book. It focuses on the positive side of man.
