I still remember the day Chai came back to class after meeting a girl during our gap hour when we were still in college. Pat was her name. She had perfectly light, fair skin and she was decked out in pearl earrings, a costly print scarf and a status handbag, according to his description.
Pat had just returned from a private cruise to South Africa and Russia. An Easter break well spent for Pat indeed - and this was the very first time she was meeting my friend. In no way was this a date, however. During her break, Pat "barely" had the time to work on her master's thesis. This is where Chai came in.
Today, there are many people like Chai who, for a fee, will write up papers of any sort. Nothing wrong with that, of course - unless their services extend to term papers, dissertations and college applications which should very much be the student's own work, for the sake of their own decency. Clearly, these writers need to find ways to come to terms with what they do.
