Stress-busting foods

Stress is part of modern life and it's inevitable. It's lucky enough for someone to recognise stress before it creeps up on them. Most of the time, the stress and strains are so sneaky that we don't even notice that they're undermining us.

"The most important sign indicating that people are under stress is a change in sleeping habits _ either causing them to sleep too much or not letting them sleep enough," said Dr Panuwat Putthacharoen, integrative medical doctor at Tria Integrative Wellness and Medical Institute.

He said persistent stress can cause continuous release of stress hormones leading to a depletion of energy storage as well as affecting metabolic processes and causing irregular menstrual cycles.
