Unwanted pregnancy is the stuff of drama and laughter in movies. Push it further, and it becomes a platform for the debate on the politics of the female body. Put that in the Thai context, bring down the age of the women in question, and the issue could play out either as an alarmist warning, a cautionary tale, or a critique on the role of the family and on society's handling of the problem.

It seems to be a hotchpotch of those in a new Thai ensemble film, in which three short episodes all centre on teen pregnancy - high-school, unplanned pregnancy, to be precise. We've seen Juno, in which Ellen Page played a quirky college girl whose belly swelled to her own surprise, and now we're seeing Rak Jad Nak (with the pun-intended English title that tickles those who know Thai, Love, Not Yet), a trio of capsule tales about what the irresistible rush of young love can entail.
