Getting the right gift

Unwrapping a gift box is always exciting, and the anticipation of what's inside the pretty box makes it even more exciting! And it's at that moment when the box is opened and the facial expression on the receiver's face that tells you if you've made the right choice. Getting someone a present is not always a piece of cake.
Whether gift giving is a social obligation or a show of love and affection, we are supposed to find a gift that he/she will truly appreciate. A gift can well reflect the giver's thoughtfulness or practicality.
In general, unless the giver has a clue about what the receiver wants or is looking for, most people tend to pick a "safe" gift _ something that won't offend the receiver or something that can be wrongly interpreted.
