Test positive, Become a workplace pariah

Finding employment takes perseverance for most people, but despite laws against discrimination even the most persistent HIV-positive person will be met with a succession of slammed doors

'Khun Andrew, please give me some words of support. I applied for a job and wasn't accepted. I'm soooooo upset."

This plaintive tweet arrived last Tuesday.

Had it been a few short years ago it would have been an email. A few short years before that the student would have put it on paper, stuck it in an envelope, and took it to the post office to buy a stamp. Ah, but my age is showing.

I do agree to take action against large companies but we should not forget the small businesses which exploit their employees like reducing their salaries if a certain target is not reached and that it common practice. Labour law should be for everyone not only applied to large companies.

    Andrew

I have used labour law twice with great success in Thailand and both times against large companies. Despite being a Farang, I received sizable settlements in both cases.

If this type of thing happens to Nut again (or anyone else, for that matter), tell him to get a lawyer, go to the labour department and to sue the S.O.B.s!
