The approach of St Valentine's Day is a good time to reflect on love and long-term relationship. On this topic, the first question that comes to mind is: What is the meaning of love?
Love is about showing compassion to those who matter most. Love is not about causing pain or hurting others. You're supposed to put the happiness of your loved ones above others, and you should feel good when your loved one is happy.
Doctors often learn more from their patients' lives and experiences than any medical textbook; after all, this is real life. As for long-term love, two thought-provoking cases are worth noting; one involves a couple whose relationship struck me as extraordinary, while the other case is a more typical, ordinary relationship.
