If God is great and benevolent, why does s/he cause pain and calamity to Earth in the form of natural disaster? Those who cannot find answers turn to the probable empirical evidence called science that to some certain extent demystifies natural phenomena.
Yet, mankind still curses God _ or gods _ for inflicting calamity and pain. Perhaps, humans have always been curious creatures who are not satisfied with only cause-and-effect rationality. No matter how progressive the science is, they are not much different to our ancestors who wonderingly looked up to the sky and looked for answers from God.
Such a bewildering sense underscores ''Let's hope Kimarz won't be wrong again'', one of the 12 stories in Daet Chao Rorn Keun Kwa Ja Nang Jip Ka-fae (It's too hot this morning to sit sipping coffee in the sun), an SEA Write Award 2011 winner by Jadet Kamjorndet.
