One of the better short film competitions is rounding out. The Amazing Thailand 9 Film Fest, conceived by Brian Bennett, is a short film competition that's determined to make a bang with its combined prizes worth over 1 million baht, including cash rewards for the winners.
The competition follows a specific rule that aims to make things more fun for film-makers and viewers; each film submitted has to be nine minutes or less, and it has to contain a signature item _ a heart, for this year _ in the story or the visuals.
After last week's submission deadline, the festival received over 200 entries from Thailand and abroad (last year's winner was a Japanese film). The preliminary selection will soon be completed, and the panel of judges, including famous Thai film-makers MR Chatreechalerm Yukol and Apichatpong Weerasethakul, will determine the winners.
