If you join the "Bangkok Car-Free Sunday" this weekend, don't forget to bring a basket to fill with fresh produce.
The "Tiew Talad, Chom Suan, Chuan Gin Pak" (Visit the market and orchards, and let's eat vegetables) trip, on Sunday from 8am, will allow cyclists to explore old communities hidden in small sois from Arun Amarin and Charan Sanitwong Roads in Bangkok Noi District, before heading to fruit orchards in the Bang Khae area. The farmers' group in Bang Phai will welcome cyclists with fresh vegetables and share their secrets for growing produce in the area.
One of the destinations is Bang Khae Home Foundation for the elderly, where cyclists can donate essentials to the foundation. They will make a stop at the market near Khlong Racha Montri canal for lunch, then move to another community to learn about its efforts to promote sustainable tourism.
