The lives of many of us were dominated by the Olympics for the entire 16 days the London Games took to run their course. The spectacular glitz we saw on TV was sometimes enough to make us wish we'd shelled out for tickets to be there.

For some aspiring athletes, however, attendance is definitely on their bucket list. Even now, several weeks after its conclusion, the Olympics is still a topic of discussion, with people still wondering what it would have been like to be experience the atmosphere and all the action in person.
