Reading makes a full man, said Francis Bacon. The sight of people of any age reading in public is not that common here, but Bangkok will have to live up to the honour of being the World Book Capital 2013 as designated by Unesco. With the year already begun, policies to encourage more reading and to add reading space are still lacking, from both the city of Bangkok or from the government.
