The much-loved riverside Amphawa community will be among the places featured in the upcoming book Asia Conserved Volume II: Lessons Learned from the Unesco Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation (2005-2009).

Scheduled to be published later this year, the second book in the series features chapters about places that won Unesco heritage awards between 2005 and 2009, and details on their culture and management. The riverside Amphawa community in Samut Songkhram province is among the winners.

The awards set technical and social benchmarks for regional efforts at cultural heritage conservation.
