The Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, led by general manager Amanda Hyndman, colleagues and friends, will converge upon Lumpini Park to participate in the first "FANtastic Fundraiser" to walk or run on Saturday, Sept 21 from 7am. The funds raised will be used to support Father Joe's Bangkok Mercy Centre.
Supporting the community and the underprivileged, especially children, is a significant CSR initiative for Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, Hyndman said. "Our FANtastic Fundraiser will provide much-needed funds for the children at Bangkok Mercy Centre, and funds in excess of 1,000,000 baht have already been pledged. We hope to make this charity 10km event into an annual fundraising project by the hotel."
The event starts at 7am with a healthy breakfast and warm-up exercises and at 8am Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra will fire the starting pistol. Participants will either walk or run around Lumpini Park (four laps to complete 10km) and return to the starting point for an awards ceremony, prize giving, family fun day and a celebratory lunch prepared by the hotel's culinary team led by executive chef Stefan Trepp.
