    24 May 2013 : The stupa displaying holy relics of Lord Buddha, where worshippers can gather during today's Visakha Bucha Day celebrations, lights up Sanam Luang at night. One of the most important days in Buddhism, Visakha Bucha marks the birth, enlightenment and passing of Lord Buddha. With the permission of His Majesty the King, every year Sanam Luang hosts the celebration, with Buddhists from all over the country travelling to the capital for the special opportunity to worship the holy relics.

Equipped with the latest-model digital cameras (the office's property, of course), he and his fellow journalists ran to the location amid the sound of sirens. The town's only hotel was on fire and seven firefighters were strenuously manoeuvring the water hose trying to extinguish the flames.
