Movie-inspired designs win top prize

Fashion has seen various trends come and go. One minute we are on board the bandwagon of wearing stylish skirts to wearing the most trendy bags or accessories. However, one thing is for certain when it comes to fabrics _ cotton has always remained popular.

"Cotton combines many important qualities that improve its performance," said Nathakit Pantueng, who won the 2011 Cotton Day design challenge hosted by Cotton USA.

The competition celebrates the importance of cotton as a consumer- and environmentally-friendly natural fibre by selecting talented young designers from Thai universities to design and completely craft ready-to-wear clothes for both men and women using 100% high quality cotton fabrics made by Thai mills that contain high percentages of US cotton.
