Sweet girlish looks make a summer statement

It has been for some few years that fashion dwelled in the land of restrained sophistication and uber-feminine glamour _ either the immaculate tailoring and ultra-clean lines or the fetishistic allure. Call it a fashion escapism, but as the underwater ocean scape at Chanel and the gigantic carousel at Louis Vuitton runway shows were erected during the fashion week back in September, we have a feeling that, the summer wardrobe would be much sweeter.
At Chanel and Louis Vuitton, the clothes do not betray the setting. Painted in different shades of ultra-sweet pastels, the Chanel and Louis Vuitton collections are immersed in all the technical manipulations and elements that characterise the sweetness of youth _ fringes, broderie anglaise, laces and the new silhouette that forsakes the female curves. The message is quite clear _ it's the season for pretty, girlish look, and not the time to flaunt curves.
