Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, or IVL, is organising the "Reco Young Designer Competition 2012" to give Thai university students and those studying at design institutes an opportunity to show their talents in designing clothes and furniture using discarded polyester (PET) plastics.
Judging the winners will be professionals from the fashion, industrial design and architecture industries.
The judging criteria include creativity, the work's concept in accordance with the theme, use of discarded objects, eco-friendliness, beautiful design, design execution, and uniqueness. Those interested can submit their work to the competition until Dec 15. Judges will choose 30 teams in the first selection and 15 teams in the second selection. Then, contestants will develop real work to compete in the final round, which will take place on March 9.
