Saoirse Ronan among trio of candidates for Cinderella role

Saoirse Ronan, Gabriella Wilde and Alicia Vikander are currently in the running for the role of Cinderella in a new Disney adaptation of the fairy tale directed by Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go), reveals Variety.

The three actresses will soon get to meet the director for preliminary tests. Eighteen-year-old Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is the most famous of the three thanks to her performances in ambitious productions such as Atonement, Lovely Bones and The Host. British actress Gabriella Wilde had a role in The Three Musketeers, and Swedish actress Alicia Vikander appears in in Anna Karenina.
