Very few actors can get away with one-man shows, so here's a chance for theatre performers to learn more about working in a team.

A US artistic director is flying in to teach ensemble-based performance at a week-long workshop at Srinakharinwirot University, Prasarnmit campus, next month.
The "Something from Nothing" collaborative process workshop will be led by Quinn Bauriedel, a co-artistic director of Pig Iron Theatre in Philadelphia. Running between 10am and 2pm on the week of Sept 9 to 15, it will present Pig Iron's tried-and-true creation processes. Participants will be given performance assignments _ themes, stories, characters, even a piece of music, which must be developed in a group.
The writing and directing duties must be shared among the ensemble, and decisions made collaboratively.
The workshop emphasises generating original material, physicalising characters and theatrical ideas, structuring group improvisations into finished pieces and the role music and rhythm play in theatre.
Participants will work on taking material developed through improvisation and turning it into precise, full, exuberant, and moving pieces. The week will culminate in a performance.
Pig Iron Theatre, forged in 1995 to push the boundaries of what live performance could be, is a multidisciplinary ensemble based in Philadelphia. The company has created more than 25 original works in the past 16 years, performed both locally and internationally, and has received numerous awards for their work.
The fee is 7,500 baht per person.
