Movie Talk Programme, a film screening and discussion hosted weekly by Ajarn Songyote Waeohongsa, resumes this month at Pridi Banomyong Library's Rewat Buddhinan activity room, Thammasat University, Tha Pra Chan campus.

Held every Thursday, the free programme sees a selection of movies by renowned directors in the non-Hollywood world.

Tomorrow's programme is Pora Umierac (Time to Die), Polish, 104 min, 2007, a powerful black-and-white movie by director Dorota Kedzierzawska. The film depicts the daily life of an old woman named Aniela (starring Polish screen and stage legend Danuta Szaflarska).

The next on the programme, for Aug 28, is Er shi si cheng ji (24 City), Chinese, 112 min, 2008.

The Jia Zhangke film follows three generations of characters in China's Chengdu (in the 1950s, the 1970s and the present) at a state-owned factory, where the march towards industrial progress changes the fabric of their lives.
