The Reflexions restaurant at the Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok, presents a selection of tasting menus by Michelin-starred French guest chef Richard Toix from Feb 27 to Mar 3.

A native of Perpignan, Toix got his culinary education at Lycée Hotelier, then moved to London to do more training with the Roux brothers at their three Michelin-star restaurant.

He later returned to France and worked for various restaurants before opening his own establishment Le Champ de Foire in Lencloitre in 1993.

Another restaurant of his, Passions et Gourmandises, was launched in 2007 in the charming village of St Benedict. Offering traditional French cuisine with modern presentation, the restaurant has earned him a Michelin star in 2008, just within a year after opening.

A recipient of numerous awards including a Large Table award from the Chateaux and Hotels Collection by Alain Ducasse, and three toques from the Gault et Millau guide, Toix is a master in the art of fusion food. He also likes to work with seasonal and sustainably-sourced ingredients.During his visit to the Athenee Bangkok, chef Toix will showcase dishes such as shrimp carpaccio; foie gras ravioli with passion fruit; red mullet with frog and lotus; and duck tajine.

Lunch is priced at 1,500 baht per person for a three-course; and 2,000 baht per person for a five-course. Degustation dinner costs 3,600 baht per person for a seven-course; and 4,200 baht per person for a nine-course. Additional wine package is also available.
