FLAVOURS OF THE MIDDLE EAST: Mohamed Ragab Morsy El Abed from Le Meridian Al Aqah Beach Resort in Dubai is showcasing his exceptional Middle Eastern cuisine at Orchid Café at Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok from now till Sunday 29 August.

Chef Mohammed’s celebration of the food and flavours of the Middle East adds aromatic, fragrant and spiced delights to Orchid Café’s international gourmet buffet.

The cuisines of the Middle East are some of the most sophisticated in the world. Subtle, elegant and alluring, dishes use fresh herbs and exotic spices such as saffron, sumac and cardamom in abundance to enhance meat, fish, rice and vegetables.

At Orchid Café, Chef Mohammed is enticing diners with a choice of “mezzes”, including chilli houmous and shrimp falafel, fattoush and other exotic salads. The selection of hot and cold dishes include sclassics and personal favourites such as carrot moutabel and spice-infused roast leg of lamb. Plus to-die-for desserts of baklava and date cheesecake.

SAVOR PIKE CONGER AND HOKKAIDO SEA URCHIN

Two of the most delectable Japanese delicacies of them all are in season together till the end of July at Kisso Japanese Restaurant at Westin Grande Sukhumvit Bangkok.

With its subtle flavour and sublimely soft texture Hokkaido Sea Urchin, or “Uni”, is a unique gastronomic experience while Hamo fish, or Pike Conger, caresses the palate with tender white flesh and a mild, refined flavour.

Chef’s special Hokkaido sea urchin menu pairs the delicacy with Wagyu beef in makis and with grilled shrimp and sea urchin sauce, along with tempura and over rice. His collected Hamo recipes inspire the senses in hot pot, clear soup, tempura, sushis, sashimi and more.

The modern Japanese style restaurant located steps from BTS Asok and MRT Sukumvit stations was recently awarded for its exceptional cuisine by Thailand Tatler and Bangkok Dining & Entertainment magazines.
