An American teacher offers opportunities for kids with special needs
A foreign girl walked up to me in her school uniform while I was waiting at the office of the Rose Marie Academy, an international school situated in the Nichada Thani Estate in Nonthaburi. She introduced herself as Amanda Spencer, and went on doing her job welcoming the school's guest.
Amanda was a good greeter. She spoke confidently in a loud voice and was very polite. One thing that caught my attention was that she did not make eye contact with me.
"She has a high level of autism," was the explanation given by Rose Marie Wanchupela, executive director and founder of the school, who has more than 30-years' teaching experience in Thailand.
