An interior architecture student at Chulalongkorn University, Warumporn Silpavithayadilok has enjoyed fl ipping through home decor magazines since her childhood. The 23-year-old’s simple-yet-practical and close-to-nature design of a 76-sqm living space under the theme “What Dreams May Come” won her the Elle Decoration Young Talent Design Project 2013 prize. Currently working on her graduate project of a hotel renovation, the prize-winner will fl y to Italy to attend a two-week summer course at a renowned design academy.
HOW DID YOU GET INTO INTERIOR DESIGN AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE?
I love art. Initially, I didn't yet know the difference between architecture and interior design, but I've always been interested in designing a building or space. Before entering university, I studied the programmes and realised that interior design was my cup of tea. I've found that a space can create a particular feeling or certain impression in a person. It's interesting for me.
