The talented father-son duo Makoto-Yoichiro Ueno will be back to give another piano and violin recital at Sala Sudasiri Sobha, Lat Phrao 41, this Sunday at 4pm.

The evening will see Makoto perform on the piano and Yoichiro on the violin in a classic repertoire featuring Bach's Siciliano And Presto For Solo Violin and Beethoven's Sonata For Violin and Piano No.1 in D Major Op 12-1.

The programme also includes Debussy's Suite Bergamasque, Ravel's Sonatine, Kreisler's Tambourin Chinois and Wieniawski's Polonaise De Concert In D Major Op 4 -- all of which are regarded as dazzling pieces of early 20th century music.

The duo will finish the show with the beautiful Spanish piece, Zigeunerweisen Op 20 by Sarasate.

Makoto is an active performer both as a recitalist and soloist with many orchestras in Japan as well as L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio and OFUNAM (Mexico). He has been teaching as a professor of piano at Kyoto University of Arts, Toho Graduate School of Music and Nagoya University of Music.

An 8th grade student at Doshisha International School in Kyoto, Yoichiro has been a classical enthusiast since an early age. He showed his outstanding musical talents at Sala Sudasiri Sobha last year where he gave more than half of the recital on the violin and offered an encore unexpectedly on the piano.

Tickets cost 700 baht including reception. Proceeds will go towards the Gift of Life Foundation to help blood disease patients with financial difficulties.
