After four months on a dream-hunting journey, a group of musically talented people with disabilities from Hua Jai Young Ten TV programme will give a debut concert on Dec 23.

The WCT band will give their debut concert entitled ‘‘The Heartbeat Concert by WCT’’ at Thai PBS’s Learning Centre Building on Dec 23 starting at 1pm.

Entitled "The Heartbeat Concert by WCT", this is the country's first full-scale concert performed by the all-disabled band, WCT (Wonder Combine of Thai Disability).

The band started auditioning in August and comprises 15 members whose lives and endeavours to perform on stage just like any other musical group have been portrayed through the Thai PBS programme Hua Jai Young Ten which has aired every Saturday since mid-October.

Translated as "The heart is still beating", Hua Jai Young Ten is a platform for any music-loving disabled people with or without a singing, dancing or performance skill to join forces and make their dreams come true. The programme also closely follows the musical development of each member, their obstacles and what goes on before, during and after each rehearsal, enabling viewers to get a better understanding of the band.

"There are some differences between the production of a charity concert and an entertainment concert with tickets.

"What we can do now is develop the standard of a concert by people with disabilities up to the same level as that of general concerts," said Chatchawal Visavabamrungchai, Hua Jai Young Ten's director and also keyboardist with the now defunct 7thSCENE trio.

"Once we're at the same level with them, I wonder whether the audience will forget about their disability."
