Held to celebrate Christmas, this BCB December Dance Performance 2012 programme will take the audience through a festive night where a nutcracker doll turns into a handsome prince who brings Clara, a little girl with a brave heart, to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy, queen of the Land of Sweets.

Playing the role of the prince is Bernard Courtot de Bouteiller, a former Paris Opera Ballet principal dancer, who has danced on the grandest stages for many companies.

He received first prize at the Paris National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance, has participated in many tours and festivals, and has been the artistic director of several dance galas worldwide.

Playing the Sugar Plum Fairy will be Elsa Nguyen Trong from the New English Ballet Theatre. She trained with the Dance Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris where she received the superior national diploma in 2008.

She has performed with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, Miami City Ballet and other companies. Also a top-class dancer, Sarawanee Tanatanit will come back for this performance.

The former rhythmic gymnast started her ballet training at age 13. In 1999, she was a finalist in the Asia Pacific International Ballet Competition in Tokyo, and was awarded the Royal Academy of Dance Solo Seal.

She became the first Thai ballerina to join the American Ballet Theatre in 2003, was named one of Dance Magazine's "Top 25 to Watch" in 2008, and is currently dancing with Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve in Switzerland.
