Pianist returns for new year show

American pianist Thomas Rosenkranz is returning to Bangkok to perform an ensemble recital with his friends at Siam Ratchada Music Auditorium on Jan 9 at 7.30pm.
Presented by D&M Music Studio, ''Thomas Rosenkranz and Friends Concert'' will see Rosenkranz performing alongside Greek mezzo soprano Mariangela Chatzistamatiou, Thai pianist Jirisupa Varikarn and Thai violinist Paye Srinarong in a programme packed with classical pieces.
The programme features improvisations and variations based on a theme by Beethoven, songs of Kurt Weill such as Complainte De La Seine, Nanna's Lied, Je Ne T'Aime Pas, My Ship and Alabama Song, Francis Poulenc's Sonata For Violin And Piano, En Bateau from Debussy's Petite Suite, selections from Faure's The Dolly Suite, Embraceable You by Earl Wild and George Gershwin, and selections from Porgy And Bess by Gershwin and Heifetz.
