Looking at the line-up, you can predict the "Big 80s Rewind Festival" will become the concert of the year.

Five world-class artists of the 1980s will fly in to give a Bangkok debut performance at Bitec's Hall 106 on Bang Na-Trat Road, on March 29, starting at 7pm.

Presented by Thai Life Insurance, Mcot and VR One Radio, the music phenomenon will feature two male pop artists and one pop rock group from the UK, plus a female pop singer and a disco band from the US.

Rick Astley is the only male solo artist to have his first eight singles reach the top 10 in the UK. He is best known for his 1987 debut single Never Gonna Give You Up, which topped the charts in 25 countries and became Britain's biggest-selling single of the year.

The lead vocalist for the 1980s band Spandau Ballet, Tony Hadley, became one of the decade's best known voices when the band's third album, True, topped the charts around the world. His first single Build Me Up after he pursued a solo career was on the soundtrack of the movie When Saturday Comes.

Known as JHJ, London-based Johnny Hates Jazz saw international success with their first hit single Shattered Dreams. American singer Belinda Carlisle gained worldwide fame as the lead vocalist of The Go-Go's, and went on to a successful solo career with hits Mad About You, Summer Rain and Heaven Is A Place On Earth among others.

The New York City-based Village People are well known for their on-stage costumes and popular gay fantasy personas. Their biggest hit is YMCA.

They have sold up to 100 million records worldwide.
