Film Archive (Public Organisation) is holding the third "Salaya International Documentary Film Festival (Salaya Doc 2013)" which will screen a selection of nine outstanding documentaries from Asean countries.
The 3rd ‘‘Salaya International Documentary Film Festival (Salaya Doc 2013)’’ is running at Sri Salaya Theatre from April 1-7 and at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre from April 2-7.
The documentaries each portray the lifestyles and problems of those nations through the directors' perspectives.
The week-long film festival will also feature a special programme of 13 documentaries from around the world, including award-winning works by Indian filmmaker Sourav Sarangi.
The festival will be running from today until Sunday (except Thursday) at Sri Salaya Theatre on Phutthamonthon Sai 5 Road and also at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) from tomorrow until Sunday.
At the Sri Salaya Theatre, the 13 international documentaries will be screened on weekdays starting at 5pm, while the weekends are reserved for the nine Asean documentaries.
However, Bangkokians will have a chance to view the nine works before anyone else as they will be shown at BACC from tomorrow to Thursday. The international programmes will then be presented from Friday to Sunday. The line-up of the nine selected Asean films comprises Tondo Beloved: To What Are The Poor Born? (Philippines), Before The Wedlock House (Singapore), Saleng (Thailand), Where I Go (Cambodia), The Hills Are Alive (Indonesia), Durga (Singapore), Overlay (Thailand), With Or Without Me (Vietnam) and Denok And Gareng (Indonesia).
