Welcome to Guru 's Gate Crasher, your ultimate guide to finding something fresh to do in this big city.
For some plastic arts, head down to A Tale of Two Tribes on Sat (Apr 27) at Thavibu Gallery (308 Silom Galleria, 919/1 Silom Road, 02-266-5454, www.thavibu.com). The show presents the rich culture of two ethnic minorities in the region, namely Myanmar's Shan State and North Vietnam's Lao Cai district. Zaw Win Pe from Myanmar and Nguyen Quang Huy from Vietnam capture landscapes and portraits in their joint show of paintings that offers an alternative tale to the misery that news broadcasters seem to prefer. Art will be up until May 25.
