Ukulele whizz Jake Shimabukuro from Hawaii will revisit the Kingdom for a concert entitled "Jake Shimabukuro Grand Ukulele Live in Bangkok" this Wednesday at Scala Theatre at 7pm.

Shimabukuro is a YouTube sensation reputed for his fast and complex finger work on the the four-stringed instrument.

He became famous internationally in 2006 when a video of him playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps was posted on YouTube without his knowledge. The viral video has been viewed nearly 12 million times.

He is now touring the world after releasing his new album, Grand Ukulele, which reached No.2 in Billboard's Top World Music Albums chart.

The Hawaiian ukulele master and composer visited Bangkok last year with his brother Bruce Shimabukuro and other world-celebrated ukulele artists at the Thailand Ukulele Festival 2012.


Scala Theatre is located on Siam Square Soi 1. Tickets for the concert cost 1,000, 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 and 3,000 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major booths (tel 02-262-3456).
