To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Gift of Life Foundation presents a piano recital by Pana Yontararak, a winner of the Luigi Castellini Award for the most outstanding student of the Francesco Morlacchi Conservatory of Perugia, at Sala Sudasiri Sobha on July 14 at 4pm.

The concert is also to mark the first anniversary of the concert hall which was designed by Pana's father, contemporary artist Nat Yontararak, the first Steinway Artist from Thailand.

The programme will feature Scarlatti's Sonata In D-Minor K141 (Toccata), selections of Scriabin's Preludes, Opus 11 (No.5, 6, 9, 10, 13, 14), Schumann's Toccata In C-Major, Opus 7, and Liszt's Mephisto Waltz No.1.

Pana will be joined by his sister Pinnaree on the harp for Nat's arrangement of Gen Prem Tinsulanond's Just A Dream. The finale will be Liszt's Concerto No.1 In E-Flat Major, accompanied by Nat on a second piano.

Pana has performed to help raise funds for the Gift of Life Foundation since 2003. His debut recital in March 2003 was graciously presided over by HRH the late Princess Galyani Vadhana. It raised 500,000 baht for the bone marrow transplant of a seven-year-old leukaemia patient. Although the boy could not be saved in time, the funds from this event have helped many other patients instead.

In 2004, Pana was honoured with an Albert Roussel scholarship to study at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. In 2006 he moved to Italy to study under maestros Pierpaolo Levi and Uberto Martinelli, before moving to the Francesco Morlacchi Conservatory of Perugia under Stefano Ragni, and then under Patrizio Cerrone. Pana is the first Thai piano student to be accepted and then graduate from this conservatory, and was presented with the Luigi Castellini Award for the most outstanding student in 2013.

Tickets cost 500 baht and proceeds will go to support needy blood disease patients. Sala Sudasiri Sobha is located on Lat Phrao Soi 41 (Yaek 7-4). Seats are limited.
