After the resounding success of last year's "Broadway Hits" concert, the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra Foundation will present a similar performance, this time focusing on the two most popular contemporary masters of the mega-musical _ Andrew Lloyd Webber and Claude-Michel Schonberg.

West End stars will perform modern classics during the ‘A Night At The Musicals’ concert at Thailand Cultural Centre on Sept 7 at 8pm.

Set for Sept 7 at 8pm at the Thai Cultural Centre, "A Night At The Musicals" will see highly experienced West End musical director Michael England conducting the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. He will bring with him two highly regarded stage performers.

Graham Bickley has appeared on London's West End for 25 years, while Robyn North won the principal role of Christine Daae there aged just 24, in the original Phantom Of The Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre on Haymarket. The two vocal stars will portray the male/female roles in solo songs and duets.

Starting with Magical Mr Mistoffelees from Lloyd Webber's long-running Cats, the evening will also be punctuated by tunes from Starlight Express, Love Never Dies, Sunset Boulevard, Evita, and The Phantom Of The Opera.

Among the ballads to be performed are Think Of Me, All I Ask Of You, Wishing and The Music Of The Night.

They will be concluded with the adrenaline-fuelled classic The Phantom Of The Opera.

Promising to be highlights of the show are the duets Too Much In Love To Care from Sunset Boulevard and Sun And Moon/The Last Night Of The World from Schonberg's Miss Saigon.

The French composer's other blockbuster, Les Miserables, will be celebrated by the solos I Dreamed A Dream, The Prayer and Stars.

In between curtain calls the orchestra will take centre stage with symphonic medleys.

Of these, just before the final Phantom sequence, the recalling of the 1960 classic Oliver! by Lionel Bart will provide a well-placed contrast.

Tickets cost between 500 and 2,500 baht from Thai Ticket Major.
