Next month Democrazy Theatre Studio will be transformed into a forest full of surprises as the backdrop for a new production by TVmunk.

Pisat Hua Toh will be staged at Democrazy Theatre Studio next month.

Pisat Hua Toh (Big Head Monster) is a fantasy-themed stage play based on a fairy tale of the same title by Ong-art Chaichancheep, who has penned well-known books including the award-winning Moo Bin Dai (meaning pigs can fly), Hua Tangmo (or watermelon head) and Kwam Na Ja Maew. This is the third stage play by TVmunk, a three-year-old group of young artists largely known for their irreverent channel on YouTube and online series.

The play will cast nine experienced performers. It will be directed by the group's playwright and actor Jaturachai Srichanwanpen who adapted Moo Bin Dai into a successful stage play two years ago.

Pisat Hua Toh tells the story of a monster with a big head who decides he wants to be a hero who makes history by travelling the world. He starts his journey with determination and experiences many unfamiliar things along the way before he finally bumps into a beautiful carp in a pond.

The two exchange their life stories and fall in love. They decide to travel together in order to pursue their dreams. The story seems to have a happy ending. But things don't always turn out as we expect.

The play will be staged in Thai. Show time is 8pm daily from Sept 12-30 (except Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Democrazy Theatre Studio is on Soi Saphan Khu, next to Lumpini Tower, Rama IV Road.

Tickets cost 500 baht (440 baht for advanced booking). Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Home for Mentally Handicapped Children (Baan Rajawadee). For reservations, call 084-005-6445 or 081-834-0845.
