Who said classical music can't rock? Well, The Ten Tenors have been showing it can (at least a little) for 14 years and are about to make their Bangkok debut.

The Ten Tenors from Australia will put on their first Bangkok concert at Thailand Cultural Centre on Sunday at 7.30pm.

The famous Australian vocal ensemble will put on their show of opera classics, with a bit of Queen and Meatloaf thrown in for good measure, at the Thailand Cultural Centre on Sunday. Performing an average of 250 shows a year around the world, they have sold more than 4 million concert tickets, and racked up four gold and two platinum CDs.

Originally a group of university friends who banded together while studying at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, the ensemble has sung their way through 14 years on the international stage, gaining thousands of fans while helping define the classical crossover genre.

The upcoming concert is supported by the Australian Embassy. Australian Ambassador to Thailand James Wise said: "It is a pleasure for us to support this concert and to share with our Thai friends world-famous musical talents from Australia. I hope Thai audiences will find The Ten Tenors a perfect 10."

They will perform in the main hall of Thailand Cultural Centre from 7.30pm.

Tickets cost 700-3,000 baht and can be purchased from Thai Ticket Major booths. Call 02-262-3456 or visit www.thaiticketmajor.com.
