Matchbox Twenty finally push into Bangkok

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

American rockers Matchbox Twenty are on their way to Bangkok for their first concert in Thailand. The band, comprising Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette, Kyle Cook and Brian Yale, will be in town for "Matchbox Twenty Live in Bangkok" on Nov 6 at Impact Exhibition Hall 1, Muang Thong Thani.

Matchbox Twenty have been at the top of the pop/rock tree since 1997 when they released their smash debut album Yourself Or Someone Like You.

That album included the global hits Push, 3 a.m., Real World and Back 2 Good.

They followed it up three years later with Mad Season which featured their first US No.1 hit Bent and If You're Gone. More Than You Think You Are from 2002 included the smash hits Unwell and Bright Lights.

After a break of 10 years, during which Thomas established a solo career, Matchbox Twenty stormed back into the charts last year with an album called North. It rocketed to No.1 in the US and Australia and included hit singles She's So Mean and Overjoyed.

Tickets for the Bangkok gig cost 1,500, 2,000, 2,500 or 3,500 baht and are available at all Thai Ticket Major outlets.
