Irish rock quartet to debut in city

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

Irish instrumental rock band And So I Watch You From Afar will be making their Bangkok debut on March 4 with a concert at Mongkol RCA Studio on Soi Soonvijai, Rama IX Road.

And So I Watch You From Afar from Belfast will perform live at Mongkol RCA Studio on March 4.

The four-piece group are continuing the unparalleled pace at which they've been touring for more than five years. Since the release of their second album Gangs, in 2011, the group have added China, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus to their already copiously stamped passports.

As well as these far-flung, seldom-played places, the quartet has played all over North America and Europe, bringing their total show tally close to 500.

Their latest album, All Hail Bright Futures, earned the band a third Choice Music Prizes nomination for "Irish Album of the Year 2012". The quartet comprises Rory Friers and Niall Kennedy on guitar, Johnny Adger on bass and Chris Wee on drums.

Presented by Realising Media, the concert is part of their Asian tour and will feature two support acts that should be very familiar to Thai post-rock fans: Withyouathome and Aire.

Tickets cost 800 baht. The doors will open at 7pm.
