A musical tribute for Haiyan survivors

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

Some of the best names in entertainment, music and dance scenes will be joining hands for an evening of a gala dinner and charity concert on Sunday.

Nuvo.

The “Rebirth... A Musical Tribute” is organised by the Philippine Ladies Group Foundation in conjunction with Filipino organisations in Thailand, Thais and the expat community. It’s part of the rehabilitation efforts to help the survivors of super typhoon Haiyan, which devastated the Philippines late last year.

The concert will be held at the Grand Ballroom of Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at 6pm.

The line-up of artists who have volunteered their time includes Nuvo, The BeatleNuts, Gail Dila, Sally Alexander, Sulbert Orcullo & Margie Amorsolo, the Lighthouse Band, the Sweet Inspiration Band, Lorna Cornelio, as well as the Asian ballroom dance champion Erie de la Cruz.

All proceeds will go towards rehabilitation purposes and to support sustainable livelihood programmes, as a follow-up to the immediate relief efforts initiated earlier that provided donations of cash and kind to the typhoon victims in the remote areas, which have received little or no assistance.

Unfortunately there is much to be done due to the sheer scale of the devastation in which tens of thousands of survivors and their families, many with young children and elderly parents, have been left with almost nothing.

- Tickets cost 3,000 baht. Three levels of corporate sponsorship (for a table of 10) are also available.
